It is a joint effort by Digicel and the CPL to give back to and nurture developing cricketing talents in the participating CPL tournament markets. The markets include Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. One Day clinicsEach one-day clinic will consist of boys and girls who will be taught the fundamentals of the game in order to improve and hone their skills while learning from the best in the sport. Aided by the beginning of the Russia World Cup, hailed as “a huge success for Kambi and our operators, with turnover, revenues and active players reaching all time highs” by CEO Kristian Nylén, the firm is now focused on a concerted level of growth with a number of clients.Addressing the impact on revenue deals with current clients in Colombia (Corredor Empresarial S.A), Romania (Stanleybet) and South Africa (Sun International), could have in the near future Nylén explained: “I think especially with Corredor there has been some official data that Colombia’s market is growing quite fast, and we strongly believe that Corredor has very very good potential to be a market leader eventually. I don’t think they are there at the moment but I think they are in a good way to get there.“When it comes to Stanleybet, I don’t expect a huge amount of revenues coming from Stanleybet [until further development takes hold in roughly a years time].“With Sun International, they had an existing sportsbook before us so that should be an immediate impact on revenues.”Before adding on the retail aspirations of Sun: “I don’t think at the moment they are doing very much on the retail, [but] i know they are interested in operating a large chunk in retail as well.“Also they are looking at owning casinos in a few countries in South America, so I also expect them to start sports betting there at some point.”A particular focus for many organisations at the moment, and moving forward, is the United States, and its many possibilities opened up since the repeal of PASPA over two months ago.Kambi has been busy in the market, securing deals with DraftKings and Rush Street Gaming, who have also launched a Colombia facing sportsbook with Kambi, as Nylen welcomed the fierce competition “I think it’s positive and not negative”.Going into further depth regarding its US operations, Nylén explained: “In Pennsylvania, sports betting can only be offered through an exclusive agreement with a land-based casino, after the state regulator limited the number of sports betting licenses a casino can have to just one – making market entry all the more difficult.“However, Kambi will gain entry to the market through its recent deal with Rush Street Gaming, which owns two of the states twelve casinos. “Current legislation in New York, which is limited to retail only, will cap the number of operators that can offer sports betting to just four commercial land-based casinos.“Of those four casinos, one is owned by Rush Street Gaming, while another (Del Lago) has a deal in place with DraftKings, potentially handing Kambi 50% of the regulated market. “With many other sports betting operators and supplier likely to be blocked out.“In both instances, land-based operators are an essential route into the market, for all sports betting operators and suppliers, and we expect this reliance to continue as more states prepare for regulation.”

The initiative will see the online gambling platform – which currently sponsors five Championship clubs and Rangers in the Scottish Premiership – invest heavily into the development of Team Talk hubs across the city where men can seek advice, help and encouragement to discuss their mental health. The news comes as gambling industry comes under increasing scrutiny from pressure groups and politicians which would limit the possibility of sponsorship deals between gambling platforms and football clubs. The Gibraltar-licensed platform has since announced that it has also renewed its Principal Sponsorship of Derby County Football Club, as part of a new multi-year agreement with the club. Working alongside the Derby County Community Trust, 32Red will set out plans to establish five new Team Talk hubs across the city as a bid to push its new initiative.Neil Banbury, 32Red’s General Manager, commented: “The investment we are announcing today means Derby County Community Trust can open five Team Talk hubs across the city. Using the unique relationship supporters have with their local club, we hope to reach hundreds more men with the expanded mental health support services who would otherwise be suffering in silence.“Our partnership with Derby County Community Trust, and the extended relationship with Derby County Football Club, shows a new model for football club sponsorship is possible. 32Red are leading the way in becoming a sponsor of choice for a club and its community. “We have a keen commitment to all the clubs we work with – underpinned by our group sustainability strategy. This agreement is a natural progression and will mean that a large percentage of the sum we are spending will go directly to helping those that need it most.”The new year-long investment from the club comes as the gambling platform seeks to become “the sponsor of choice for sporting organisations.” As part of their partnership with the scheme, 32Red will be inviting their team of 32Red Champions – UK sports stars from all fields – to visit Team Talk sessions at one of the five new hubs. If the scheme is successful, 32Red will look to launch similar projects on men’s mental health as part of their commitment to be a positive sponsor for football clubs and their communities.Derby County’s Chief Executive Officer Stephen Pearce added: “Everybody is delighted that Derby County’s Official Partner 32Red have teamed up with the community trust to help provide additional funds that will help to secure five new locations across Derby to give more men the chance to talk.”The new mental-health support scheme will deliver support to men who are suffering from mild mental health issues, while also offering referral services to those who are suffering with more severe problems. Head of Community at Derby County Community Trust Simon Carnall concluded: “This is the first time Derby County’s main sponsor has made such a big investment in the local community. Working in partnership with 32Red, we can now expand the programme and reach many more men with mental health problems across the community over the coming year.”

With E3 2017 becoming open to the public for the first time comes the event’s very own esports competition.Top fighting game competitors will aim to take the attention away from the show floor in an all-out Twitch Esports Arena FGC tournament. Powered and sponsored by T-Mobile, the event plans to feature tournaments of different games throughout E3 week.Image courtesy of TwitchTuesday, June 13 will serve as the first day of the tournament and will feature Street Fighter 5 matches from 12 to 8 PM. June 14 and 15 will feature Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 matches respectively, with the latter only lasting until 5 PM as opposed to 8PM like the others. In an effort to promote fan interaction, T-Mobile will be running a Twitter and Twitch campaign where fans can vote for the MVP of each daily tournament using the #TMobileMVP hashtag. T-Mobile is also rewarding their customers by allowing them access to an exclusive, VIP seating area for a “portion of the action.”Apart from EVO and CEO, two of the most popular FGC tournaments, TBS’s ELEAGUE also jumped into the fighting game fray with their first $250,000 (£193,625) tournament which was held in May of this year. Seeing as how ELEAGUE also signed an agreement with Twitch in May of last year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the two esports giants join hands and create an FGC tournament together. Those unable to attend the E3 event can watch the action from the comfort of their own home through the Twitch Esports channel. The event will take place from June 13-15th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.Esports Insider says: E3 being open to the general public is definitely a unique event. Perhaps if this fighting game competition attract a large crowd, E3 will remain public and perhaps even become a hub for large-scale esports competitions in the future.
